Artist Statement

I’m inspired by the beauty of everyday objects and scenes, contrast and differences, hidden corners and quiet spaces. My acrylic and oil paintings are loose, impressionistic, fauvist, often colourful with a sense of calm. My watercolours are usually birds and seascapes painted loose and fast. I also create detailed illustrated maps. When I’m not painting or teaching I work as a gardener.

My bird watercolours, cards and coasters are currently available at Artologie gallery in Cuckfield.
